I am so amazed of how much has happen since my last post, been out of work for 5-6 weeks really was not good, however instead of whining and cry i meditated a lot, i am meditating at least 15 minutes each morning and visualized myself solving the situation, i was by the way listening to The Process by Esther and Jerry Hicks

At work the company has decided to restructure the way it works and my job has been a part time (5-12hrs) per week as floral designer assistant, the person in charge of the department applied for another position and everyone assumed the position was mine after all i've been doing it for years, i heard so many bad expectations for me from "others" and i had to kind of prove i could do it because we also got a new manager so i took it easy and blocked all that out of my brain and every time i even felt like thinking about it i saw myself happy on that counter designing floral arrangement's as simple as that, i have also decided to discipline myself a tad more, so i do wake up by 8,30am on non working days which means i get to bed by 12 instead of 3am so some improvement there, I've been cooking because my Dr told me i need to eat at least every 4 hrs, i take my lunch to work, save more and do my best not to miss my Zumba class with Luis, i am also controlling what i spend at work, on my goals is still getting my scraproom in shape, i have not scrapbook in so long but i am so into altered journals and that is Melody's fault because of her amazing program Soul Restoration where i learned to love ModPodge and altered journaling o visual journaling and get messy not so fricked out about the acid free stuff and yeah i got the position i am "the" floral designer at our store with it came a raise in $ and hrs(around 30) per week so i feel pretty balanced, still have to get to the gym which by the way i am still paying every month.

Nolan is still at Kolburne School even though he graduated and age out of the B Of Ed and NY state wants all the kids back just that have no way to accommodate them we are looking for a school here, i am not in a hurry i love for him to stay there until he is 22 and is possible, he is on a great place with amazing people he is not happy however, he is enjoying his friends and place but of course he wants to come home he wants to be back to NY i want him to get a school where he can learn and where he feels that he "belongs" he is a very friendly, talkative kid and much more high functioning for the schools we have found, we'll get what's right for him.

So many miracles!! i am so grateful.

On Wednesday May 4/2011 i had to work 3hrs in Manhattan, i left around noon with a latte on my stomach and didn't feel hungry all day which is kind of normal on me, i had maybe a liter of water and a small pack of cashew nuts and raisins mixed when i got off the train at home i knew i had to eat but didn't feel like cooking, i wasn't hungry so i stopped at Popeye's got 2 pieces of spicy chicken = fried dark meat, cajun fries, cole slaw and a diet coke, stuff i like but i rarely eat, i went home ate and got on the computer I've just started

Soul Restoration with Melody Ross so i watch some videos, took notes and around 2am i went to bed, around 4am i woke up with a sharp pain on my abdomen, i got off bed took 4 liquid advil pills and 2 sleeping pills i can tell you was a bad pain, sharp but not specific i assumed was a indigestion for eating fry food, i woke up with pain and tired but again was nothing specific more like a abdominal pain that included my lower abdomen, i had chills and more pills, i told friends and family and since i am someone you will never see sick, not even a cold no allergies nothing everyone kept saying is indigestion, a stomach virus.. so i waited and Saturday i had my friend Fernando come to drop a DVD my friend send me from my Belly Dance class so i asked him would you drop me at my Dr? is a few blocks away but i don't feel like walking he said sure and did he was on his way to Boston with his family, when i got to my Dr's office he just touch my belly and said this is not indigestion is you appendix he wrote a note for me call a car service and send me with that note to the hospital there 2 hrs later i was having surgery, now the fact that Fernando show up was a miracle itself, my Dr sending me with that note was another because who knows how long i was going to have to wait, i got in right away and 2 Indian Drs (sorry for the description=from India) became my protectors...somehow, i was only thirsty and asked for water, they told me you can't drink anything at all and wanted to do a CT on me another Dr insisted to check me implying it could also be ovaries,constipation o even cancer well she did examine me and of course wasn't but she got me a liter of a clear liquid and told me to drink it, just trying to not think of the taste i ask for a straw but put the bottle on my side when a man started moving my bed toward some upper floor, i was taken to a room to get a sonogram the man left a woman started to get ready to do the test i told her i didn't get to drink that she told me not to worry anymore, right before she got that gel on me i see my 2 Drs(Indians) they grabbed the bed and starting running down with me took the elevator down and asked me did you drink anything? and i said no they told me that if i had any i was going to had to wait until morning to get the surgery.. now I've never seen that, it looked like a movie 2 Drs i mean they didn't send for me they went to get me, i would consider that another miracle, got me to the CT and x-ray and figure my appendix had erupted days ago and i had a horrible infection mostly on my small intestine, i had 2 women Drs come to my bed explained that they had to remove part of my small intestine and i will have to use a bag to do #2 and that 2-3 months later they would put it all together again and closed me up, i had 2 other sets of 2 Drs (males) that also told me that THEY were going to be the ones doing the surgery i called my family and told them to get everyone that could pray to focus on my small intestines the apendix was damage already, i was taken to he operating room while waiting by the door on my bed i met the anesthesiologist, the assistant Dr, the nurse and who knows what other person but between those i saw this man leaning over me and asked me how do i feel? and what happen? do you smoke? do you wear dentures? a bunch of questions but he looked like one of those happy guys at the deli you know white hair big smile,chubby, very simple and then he told me I AM your surgeon and i did what i have learned to do lately "let go and let G'd" when i was about to go to sleep the Dr put his hand on my shoulder and told me " i know you heard a lot of Dr's opinions BUT I AM the one that will do it and i will make sure to do it with the smallest damage possible, he said don't worry at all, trust me" that made me feel so incredibly good i was worry but until that second before closing my eyes i was just trying not to think much, the fact that i got this particular Dr is another miracle, he decided that since i was a healthy person no issues at all he was going to let my intestines heal, he told me it will take a while for you to be yourself again but is better than walking around with a bag attached to you, i was in the hospital for 7 days didn't eat for 7 days because i hadn't had food since the Friday before my surgery and my sister flew in the morning of Mother's day to NY to take care of me i am so incredibly grateful because i can't imagine myself alone in the hospital, she was here for 2 weeks and just went back to Fl she cooked for me all day i think i haven't had so much home made food since i lived with my parents, i had a lot of issues taking and breathing and even though was a perfect digestion(as usual) was painful, walking made me feel so tired still does but i am getting better each day, the Dr said i was possibly going to die that Saturday o worse on Mother's day, i am so grateful to be alive, i had friends come to the hospital to see me, i know most of my friends didn't know only those that were my niece/sister's friends too i will be home for another 2 weeks i have my neighbor taken over my sister takes me for walks and brings me food, my friend Molly offered to taken care of me on her house after my sister leaves, i have always known as Kat and Molly know that we can count on each other for anything but it was great to experience good friends,my friend Haydee cooked for me while in the hospital i couldn't eat, she got me bottle water and the first thing my stomach kept was the broth of one of her soups, my friend Luisa send me papaya with my sister just a day i felt my stomach was hot inside a weird feeling but eating that made me feel so much better and so on.... simple little gestures i won't forget, my room in the hospital looked like a flower shop, even my boss (Manhattan job) send me some me flowers ,i doubt i can forget this experience, i don't get sick ever thank G'd because i sure do not like it, i need to keep walking and eat every 3-4 hrs but i am fine i will be back to normal very soon, thank you all for your prayers light and good wishes.

Have i neglected my blog Oh boy! Marry Xmas, happy new Year... is been basically a whole year since i have posted on this blog well my friends are most of them on FaceBook too so we have been in touch, i will be back and post some pictures and tell some stories i've lived this year, it has been productive for Nolan and me at least in a mental and spiritual way we are stronger and better people, more focus on what we need to do,even though we don't seem to have a formal plan of life but we'll get there i just know that, back soon,hugs.

In the middle of October i spent a weekend at the IBM Palisades Resort
This would be the first time in over 3 months that i walked anywhere out of my house without crutches o cane, the prior weekend a friend who is a Dr in Alternative medicine re-adjusted my hips and i started to walk normally, it has been a very long painful experience, i learned a lot about me and about all that are around me, the way people reacted and i learned how hard is deal with a physical disability in my case thank G'd now gone, anyway in a happier note i had a fabulous time at Stephanie's crop, amazing food in an spectacular hotel, each had its own room which was great at this time for me,the crop was very fun, full of games and prizes i won a couple did some shopping and had a fantastic time with friends i haven't seen in a long time as well as Maryann, Lerida and Tracy all where on my last crop, met new people and rested and re-energized i need it to go away, i've been working and frustrated not been to be able to go to my dance classes o the gym, no matter how much i tried i did gain on whole size, i hate it but to not been able to move much is not bad, i've been walking like crazy and i started to go to my dance classes, i feel like i am living a new life.

On September 11 my niece Erika came from Fl with her DH to celebrate her 30th Bday in New York with us so i decided to bring Nolan home the same weekend for a visit,we had such a good time at Cabana @ the South Street Seaport, it was a great night with friends and family.

On September 13 i got together with my beautiful friend Alicia she came to visit NYC after been for a while back in Australia and having her baby doll Amelie, Jeannie and Lyn came from Long Branch to NY to see her and have lunch and shop at the South Street Seaport with us.

I fell down he stairs on my sister's house, i went there to help her pack since he is moving and my friend Ruddy came to take us to have dinner with some friends @ their restaurant Green Light Cuisine i fell while going to meet him on his car, i end up going to the ER 4 days later when i realized that wasn't going away, the Dr said is a sprain ankle, took x-rays, i stretched the ligaments on my ankle, he made me a splint (half of a hard cast) wrap my leg and gave me a pair of crutches to walk with for 3 weeks! a week later my Dr told me 4 weeks, is been more than 3 weeks and my ankle is still showing the same colors, swollen and hurting so i am going back to the DR soon, the worse part and most exhausting is the crutches, what i miss the most is dancing, who i miss the most is Nolan i can't let him see me like this so i haven't been able to have him home o go there,I never stopped working not easy but i need it.. to keep going, is really depressing to feel useless and have to depend on others to do things, i spent 10 days at my sister's she took very well care of me, came back home and i packed for a trip with my friend Maryann, this is the first time i go to this retreats "Cropper's Delight" I've been invited for at least 2 years and i finally made it, lots of fun, love the attention and all that included specially winning so many prizes, Maryann and Lerida helped me around and I met a lot of nice new scrappers.

I should keep up with my blog, i have had some awesome time lately, i would say too much alcohol even though i never get drunk, i never had, i stop when i need to but it just been frequent parties and get together with friends and is like i need to step out of the world, having different friends from different groups makes me feel very lucky and loved but at the same time i am finding myself more and more doubting who really is my friend, who is with me for real, I always tell my friends the same "i am who i am" i know i am lets say.... peculiar, different, i like myself i am not changing unless you can prove to me i am wrong, i am not the kind of person that will hide what she feels but i have learned that i can step away, it feels sad to get away from people you love just because there is no comunication...can you tell i am not myself today?

OMG is been such a long time since i blogged, I've been busy but in a different way without the nasty stress i had until last year ,let's start for the beginning; in May i went to see Nolan and we had our Mother's day lunch at a very nice Chinese restaurant in Great Barrington in Massachusetts very beautifully decorated place, I went with my friend Carmen and a bunch of other people to Mohegan Sun Casino I won $5 i don't know how to play anything, either does my friend so we decided not to waste money there but we spent the money shopping, great stores we had lots of fun, i also during 5 days participated on a leadership seminar, staying in at hotel in Manhattan i had 3 others roommates and i had a lot of fun with them but mostly i learned about me about how i am perceived by others and how much i have been protecting myself from feeling pretty much anything that could eventually by any chance hurt me, i mean protecting myself to the point of getting fat so no one would even get too close to me, i don't even own a dress o skirt i know i am femenine, i wear make up, get my hair to look nice but really all my male friends treat me as a tom boy, i realized i've stopped been girly a long time ago for the same reasons, i had put on my head that i am better alone and honestly i am happier but is just because i haven't bother to allowed anyone else in my life, i decided that all men are the same, some worse than others and that i didn't need to deal with them, i have no plans to go look for one but i am more open now to live a different kind of life, been less arrogant and untouchable, i decided to go back to school to take classes maybe on the fall, to become a professional photographer, is something i truly love and makes me happy and would never be a"job" for me but can help me make lots of $ i got a professional camera already 2 different lens not sure how to use it much but i will learn, i am willing to really enjoy my life, my son, my family, my friends and just be happy!

Spring cleaning

I've been cleaning, purging and de cluttering this apartment for days, is so amazing how I've been able to accumulate so much junk, Nolan's room took 2 days, I did 1/2 of the kitchen, I am going to keep doing the closets, pack out clothes to give away ,send to the church o throw away because I will be needing new clothes since I am now a couple of sizes lighter I am at the moment on my computer area trying to figure what I actually need, I feel the need to see my apartment lighter in every possible way, I will end with my scraproom which is a mess and I can't even walk in, seriously, I plan to sign in for a new gym the 1st of May and start taking swimming classes, I can dive in, float for a while but I can't swim and is about time I do, this gym also has an ice skating ring so I will eventually end up going there too for a reminder class I have not ice skate for like 20 years, Nolan is doing great amazing to think i have a 19 year old boy and i am so proud of him, he has made so much progress and keeps learning doing well and making mistakes like any teen but he is willing to learn and become a more independent adult, I've to go back to my cleaning, I am listening to the FlyLady podcasts on my Ipod and reading her blog, I think the hardest thing to put in your brain is;
You can't organize clutter; you can only get rid of it! - FlyLady
So i have lots to do...enjoy your spring days because I will.

Alex Lemonade Crop

I had a wonderful weekend, Kat came to pick me up at home and we went to Molly's house stay up talking until 3.30am and were on out way to the crop by 7.30am i saw most of my favorite people there, i have been going to Lyn's crops for a few years now and they are always fabulous, this time she team up with Karen to work in benefit of Alex Lemonade Stand a 9 to 9 scrapbooking crop that raised $11,450.00 isn't that amazing? the prizes were fantastic, strangely enough i didn't win anything not even a door prize but i had a fabulous time,great food with Scrap-a-Doodle-Doo as our main vendor, i got to scrapbook 6 double page Lo's and lets not forget that we had a bar on the place and the drinks were like $2 so we had a few and they had karaoke and we had to listen to the most atrocious singers ever but it was fun, some of the girls played pool ad it was just fun to watch them, we got back at Molly's by 1 am and in the morning we went to have breakfast with her family before heading back to NYC, here are the pics of my Lo's and a slide of pics from the crop BTW Alex mom was there it was great that she was able to be with us.

March has been a very special month for me, no much work which is not OK for me because is not only less money but I also don't do anything useful and I truly hate that.

I went out on St. Patrick's Day with some friends from the Gym we had a great time, dance had a few drinks and talk a lot.

That same weekend I went to a party with some other very different group of friends, lots of dancing and too much drinking for some, delicious food and I had a very good time with my friend Rudy.

This week I went to Massachusetts to visit Nolan we went to have lunch and do some shopping and I went also to his house and I got to meet the therapeutic dogs that work with the kids every Tuesday so here are some pics.

Is been a very busy month my brother is in NYC and it was so nice to see him and have him close by, i didn't get to see Nolan because he has been a teenager (a misbehaving one) i went to Long Branch to Molly's house, to visit her and the SDV there, we went twice in a day to visit our friends hug and kiss them, i saw her brother and his wife with their new puppy,that Sunday i went to a theatrical show in Spanish, the actors were great, one of the actress is a friends of us, the theme was a religious one, the fight between evil and good, no my thing but it was fun and after i went to have dinner and some drinks with a friend.
My friend Anna-Karin came to NYC from Sweeden i haven't see her since the summer of 05 she looks fabulous we went to have a few drinks on Friday just for a few hrs but it was so nice to see her, i hope she gets to comeback soon.

I went this weekend to be at the SDV even though only for Saturday for 24 hrs i accomplished a lot, I made 6 double Lo's, i took an SB class, a Zumba class, got a massage, and got to see my friends spend some time with them, somehow i think i got to do more in such a short period of time than in a regular weekend, Dee was my roommate and as always it was just a pleasure to be with her, it was a lot of fun, some shopping, in a beautiful hotel with a great view, great room and beds, the food was fabulous, nice service... hey nothing but a great pleasant, productive weekend!!

Today I had the most fun pack day in a while, my niece is here from FL and my sister and I went with her to see "The View" and it was live so I didn't have time to call anyone, it was great, a friend of us is Sherri Shepherd 's babysitter and we got tickets as invited by her we got in before the public and we were seated on the front road seats i was 3 feet away from Whoopi Goldberg and it was so much fun to see Elisabeth Hasselbeck getting into a political fight with Joy Behar the guess was some guy that made a documentary on how the world made a mistake by listening to the media about Sarah Palin and how they were all in for B. Obama and got him to win, so.... not even Barbara Walters liked him, they also talked about a bunch of other stuff it was "A day of hot topics", at the end of the show, Sherry came to us and took us to the green room where we waited a few minutes and of course we just took as many pics as we could, she came back without shoes because her feet hurt and she took us to see Joy and after to see Whoopi and we got to take pics with them, Elizabeth had left the building and because of the channel's BS no one is allowed to get any close to Barbara, Sherry is the cutest, sweetest thing ever very down to earth and simple, she hugged us and kissed us many times,she is just really, really nice, from there we went to a friend's store she has some cool stuff but i refuse to buy more clothes until i lose at least 15 more pounds, i got 3 black t-shirts 1 for work 2 for the gym and 3 toothbrushes to keep extra at home, my niece got lots of stuff so did my sister, the we took a bus to her other store and she end up giving my niece and i sleepers and i got some boot sleepers because we were dying of walking all day on high heels boots, after we went to eat on a great little Mexican restaurant, i got home late and very tired, it was a great day off, i just missed my gym classes but i will survive.

I spent a few hrs yesterday with Nolan and walking from Friendly's to the bookstore we found this store Nolan told me "come on let's go Mami" and i was thinking.. i am not getting into a chocolate store.... nope...no me, once we got right in front he said...well get the camera this will be great for my scrapbook!! LOL he was wise enough no to bother to ask me to get in the store, we just took a bunch of pictures, we had a great day together

I wish you all, each and every one, all your own dearly held hopes and wishes and dreams come true from this day forward as I also thank you all, each and every one, for all the joy, inspiration and grace you bring to my life and that of my own precious son. If I could send you each a gift to show the depth and breadth of my appreciation and gratitude, well, I certainly would. And it would probably have an apple with it since it's long been believed that if you eat an apple today you will, most assuredly ensure HEALTH and HAPPINESS and PROSPERITY for the foreseeable -- of course everything I wish for all of you!

For me??my wishes are the same as last year, i believe i accomplished all of them with the exception of sewing and finding the love of my life (maybe i did but i can't see him)

I went to see Nolan Tuesday, boy is that child expensive LOL well he is my everything so he got everything he wanted and he was great i got him a coat, hiking/snow boots, shoes, 2 DVD's movies ( Mama Mia, and Horton) 2 music CD, 2 pair of shoes for Louis, etc,etc... we went out to eat and walk a lot we had fun, no human been is this life time can make my heart happy like he does, i smile just thinking of Nolan and the things he comes up with, he is so funny and kind, he has such a great heart.

I went on Thursday from work with my sister to a 50th Birthday party, we decorated the place, i danced a lot and saw lots of friends, i had fun.

Here are some pictures of my sister and i working in the store, making more xmas stuff,is good to be in that room, the closer it gets to xmas the nastier people gets and yes we take tips when we do custom orders and thanks you is always nice and people when we work all day doing xmas decorations we know our faces are shinning with glitter, we don't need to hear that 30 times per day, last time i told some kids "don't worry.......is not contagious" I think there is a reason why i never liked to work with people, however most people is nice and i really enjoy working in that store as in most places there are people that just don't tolerate others, as always i talk to everyone and do my best not to open my big mouth, the store is also in a great area so the people that goes there(mostly) like to spend and is not whining for everything, i hope you are all enjoying the season and all the shopping, Nolan only wants movie DVDs, my nephew money so is going to be easy, I've been buying stuff at the store specially the Martha S border punchers other than that I've been good!!

No much around here and believe me that's fine with me, I've been working and Nolan was home for 4 days pretty peaceful, we went to see Madagascar 2 and Bolt on 3D but most of the time just home reading and watching movies, Thanksgiving day i spent the night at my sister's she cooked and we woke up at 5am to be at work at 6am we worked until 6pm since we couldn't work Thursday the time goes so fast making bows, baskets, xmas trees and wreaths.
Here is a picture of the prize i won at a Halloween crop contest at 2CroppinCousinz we had to guess how many candy corn were in this bottle somehow as soon as i saw the bottle i remember thinking of the #38 and then try to figure the size of the bottle and made sense so i said 38 and won this.

Well i got the job so i will be working at Michael's on Wednesdays and Thursdays 8hrs per day, i got exactly what i ask for so i am happy i play with glitter and glue all day and if you know me, you know glitter makes me happy even if is not stickles, the day goes fast and i am not home watching CNN and on Facebook all day long.

Is been a very special week, i went on Tuesday to get my train and bus tickets to go see Nolan in Massachusetts On the way home i went to a shoe store in my neighborhood and i was one of the last ones there before they closed, in the morning the store and 5 more including Pizzahut, TacoBell and a Bubble tea store were all burned to the ground they had to demolish the building, what a weird feeling to see that.
Anyway i went to see Nolan and i was picked up from the train i went to the school met Nolan and his new therapist who seems to be very smart and eager to help Nolan and totally cute around 25 , Nolan wanted to be Indiana Jones i bough a hat and wip he added a jacket and was just happy as a clam, i got to also talk to his teacher who is a strange man, very unusual, just not sure what to think of him but he agreed on working with Nolan on more important subjects on hrs on the day when Nolan is more receptive, less hyper which should help him, we had a good time, got to talk a lot, went to his house and someone drove me to the bus stop to come back to NYC.

Friday i went to the gym and took 2 classes then went to have lunch with my friend after i went to my sister's job at Michael's to pick up something she had for me and she was making Christmas wreaths and to justify my presence there she told the manager i need it to work for a couple of days and she told me to get in and make a couple of Christmas wreaths which I've never done in my life, i did and she wants to see me on Monday so i may actually work for scrapping supplies LOL they don't pay much at all but i am really going crazy staying home, so i may, imagine just getting a shopping cart and just pick anything you want to use the only condition is that is not too cheap and that i save the tickets with the price LOL cool right?? i decided to work on unusual stuff, a baby o girl one and a purple one my favorite color.

However my sister is amazing decorating she is been doing it forever this are a couple of hers.

On Tuesday and Wednesday i was in NJ to visit some friends and so was another friend from North Carolina, we end up going up to Camden NJ to investigate (catch infraganti) who one of my friends (Angel 1) assumed was getting too close to her husband whom at the moment is recuperating on her house from a mild stoke , she took the keys of the apt he rented to be close to his job in Camden as tennis instructor and we armed ourselves with cameras, Ziploc bags and rubber gloves and headed to check out his place, we found the "B" in bed completely installed in his apt according to her just visiting, everything was peaceful, no screaming or aggression on/from anyone but she got it right away that she had to leave maybe because we were 4 and were snapping pics of everything we could, it was a very exciting kind of weird event, we were happy to be there with our friend at this time, happy we got the "B" out and collected evidence to support her divorce case, happy she validated her suspicions and confirmed she wasn't making it all up but at the same time sad because of all of the above, i am still feeling like that but is up to her what she will do, we just want her to be happy and in peace.
Came back in the afternoon to NYC to run home, shower and get ready to go to a short presentation of a travel company proposal to make us rich, good luck to all involved, i don't have the patience to deal with sales even though according to the numerology i should be good for business i am a #7

Walking for a cause!

On Sunday i went to walk to benefit raising funds for breast cancer awareness and a cure, we walked 5 miles and my group raised around $700 we end up walking like 2 more miles but just to find a great little Mexican restaurant, it was a nice bright day of around 65* just perfect for the walk.

Is been a peaceful week, Nolan is doing great in his new house, I've done nothing out of the ordinary except for the fact that I saw my friend Alicia at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden on Tuesday, her 2 boys are the cutest thing, we couldn't spend much time together but we got to take some pics and we hope to get together before she goes back to Australia to live, I've been home mostly, going to the gym more, ate out 3 times, I'm having a hard time eating more than twice a day, when I'm home i don't get hungry, I saw the gynecologist on Saturday, everything just fine, only one Cyst and the Dr expect that one to go away like the others, no much planned for this week, I've been changing and re-organizing my scraproom so you'll see pics later (hey the desk is clean)

My Drs. found nothing that can indicate the cause of pain, so i was right leaving my job is.... just stress... my general Dr told me i was very lucky (i knew that!) because at my age i already know there is nothing wrong with my bones that kind of tests i got are done after 50, he was upset i still haven't lost 40 pounds, i lost 10 in this year so he wants me to work out more specially the middle section so my back is strong, all the tests are normal the only thing he told me is that one of those is low(can't remember the name) it indicate that i don't eat enough fruits and vegetables ,He told me i don't eat enough, i eat wrong, i hardly ever have breakfast, eat a big lunch and whatever i find for dinner, he said that my body's metabolism has become lazy and i need to reactivate it, there is nothing wrong with my system so his advice is to eat 6 times per day because this way my body has to be active (makes sense) of course if i want to lose weight i need to eat foods that will help me lose the weight, like fruits, vegetables and lean meals, i can tell you is not easy specially at home, i just forget to eat, i'll do it... i have been with out pain most of the time not sure if it is because of the shot i got o because i am in peace but i am also going more to the gym, this weekend i was at the Pennsylvania hotel across the street from the Madison Square Garden in a seminar where i was helping and learning how to relax, think on myself, get my priorities straight and see what is really important on my life, what really makes me happy, makes me smile like Nolan, my friends, go out to eat, been home and so many little things...... one of those is NYC i love to walk on the streets of NYC and take pics, in one break i went right outside the hotel and took this pics.

It has been a long, strange week, Monday i went to my general Dr who prescribed a pain medication, also a bone density test and a bilateral hip x-ray and also sent me to the pain management office to see the Dr there and start physical therapy again, where i received an injection in my back for the pain,i got a back sonogram, massage and electrodes therapy, today i went for the bone density test and x-rays i have to wait now for the results, on the other hand as i said on my last post i didn't work all week and by Friday i had decided i need it to leave my job, so i did, it was not easy but i can do it, i am so much in peace it was just getting me sick to be there, too stressful and i am grateful i won't be there to see what happen next on that permanent war of words between my boss, lawyers and her DH's kids all fighting to put their hands on his money while he is still alive, is very sad and i had no power over anything that can be say o done, God grants him a long life and the clarity of mind to see who is who in that mess.
Anyway on a happier note Nolan's life has this week also change, i as his mother has always known he is and will be capable of living a fairly normal life without me but i am his mother i know him and adore him so my opinion is kind of not objective so it was amazing to get a call from school asking for my permission for Nolan to move out of the boarding school into one of their houses in town, 8 of the kids (5 from his unit) were chosen to go, they will attend the same school, go to the school pool and use their facilities but be able to buy their own food, go to the stores, museums, libraries and have a more "normal" life, they believe he will eventualy live on a half way house or hopefully on his own, he is very happy and excited, so am i but we are both anxious, nervous about it all, we also will be losing Jennifer Walk who has been in his school like a second mother and who is also sad to be away from Nolan she has been my eyes and his mother love there, he has now a very nice lady her name is Lyanne we hope for the best, so say a prayer for my boy so he will adapt and grow in his new life.
As for me at home i have been cleaning and slowly doing little things i haven't in a long time, i won't have my sister cleaning my apt for now since i will be off work, i plan to remain like that for a while, i was smart enough to save most of my summer salary so i have several months of bills covered and i don't have any debt, i also canceled 2 page kits, i will be keeping Club Scrap and Club Scrap Jr. and i will not watch QVC and HSN for a while i will be organizing my apt and hopefully come up with a way to make money from home, life goes on i just want us to be safe, healthy and in peace, wish us luck on our new lives.

Tired of been busy

I have once again started having back pain, muscle spasms in my lower back just that this time kind of catches my upper legs on the way so i can bend in pain at any minute, so it sucks, i have to see my Dr in the morning i have been putting it off since July because i have been so fricking busy, did i mention i was this weekend upstate NY with my brother and sister? Nolan is coming this weekend to be home, we most likely stay home most of the time but i need to feel well, i don't want him to see me in pain and go back to school worry that i am home alone, so i decided i am tired of been busy and running all the time,i am going to take this week off and i will stay home i have to find someone to help my boss while i rest but she is going to have a tantrum, i can only imagine her, I've never been away sick in 20 years not even for a day, i hope my back pain is just my loony life nothing else but i am sure my Dr will have me done all kind of tests, if you know me, you know i won't be in bed, is just not me but i can slooooowly and in peace work on do some organization on my scraproom, work on my closets, i know i will have stuff to do for me and on my own time, i am ok with that, i hate to feel useless, even though i have until recently thought i have a great job i am tired of it and don't want all the stress that brings, i can't retire but i can stay without working for a while, for now it will be a week.

Back from Whippany

I had a great time at the Whippany SDV my roommate Dee is very sweet, pleasant and fun to be around, the SDV was to my perception smaller and very quiet , the hotel was fabulous, great beds and delicious food i was sorrounded by a group of girls that they were all fun and amicable in a peaceful, way not my usual loud, wild group, i did scrap some on Friday, Dee and i end up going on Saturday to my friend Luis house who had a BBQ it was nice to see the "good" group from our camping trip, a couple of hrs later we went back, got some sangria and stopped at Tuesday Morning for some shopping, at the SDV we had a couple of massages by our new guy, who was not just adorable but very good with his hands and elbows, i got crazy buying more glimmer mist and 10 sets of Twinkling H2Os at Scrap-a-Doodle-Doo here are pics of the few Lo's i made, i'm not too happy with all but i had a great time for sure.

Our camping trip was a total experience, i had the most wonderful roomates and friends in my room and cabin, the place was amazing, just beautiful, there were more moments i rather not talk about, that those i enjoyed but as i always said those are experiences i need to learn from, here are some pics of those great times.

Fay and all we had so much fun in Fl , according to the group this was not just scrapbooking it was ShopBooking and so we did OMG i spent so much money but it was so worth it we found so many deals, to start we had a 40% off coupon for the entire order at Michaels (coupon at the bottom) we also found a SB store with amazing 75% off of Quickutz, paper cutters, rub-ons etc we visited the HSN warehouse now that was cool we got SB stuff for 40-75% off i also got some underwear, a book, bag and a very cool pair of sandals, we visited i think 9 scrapbook stores and many other kind of stores, we scrapbooked at night and i was able to do my Cape Cod scrapbook, actually it will be divided in two 8 by 8 scrapbooks i made a total of 45 pages nice and simple but all done, we went to the beach, watched the Olympics, we also went to the pool and had a blast took more that 1000 pictures between the 4 of us, as always i loved having Lois as my roommate, enjoy spending time with Daphne and meeting Melissa i had so much fun with them, Vanessa the other girl was gone by the time i got there but i got to meet her at Disney when we went to the SDV to visit and do some more shopping, i got to hug many friends there, met some of the girls from the message board, all that while trying to avoid Fay who was a pain but it was just rain and wind to a level we could deal with, i simply had a fantastic time and i hope be able to see them all again soon.

As usual i have had a busy week, lots of work and i went to Massachusetts to the school graduation, then we drove to NYC Nolan was here Friday to Sunday it was a very quiet and peaceful weekend, just perfect we only went outside to watch a movie The Mummy, i have to work like crazy to make up for the days i will be away but now i need to finish preparing for my Fl trip with hurricane Fay on the way who knows, i am as always hoping for the best.
I will post some pics later, i am just crazy busy working, i am taking my laptop to Fl so i will update from there.

Today is 08-08-08 supposed to be a special day.... whatever i went to my salsa aerobics in the morning then to work 3hrs then to the hospital to visit my boss' DH who is in the Presbyterian hospital in a private room with his own nurse, he got salmon for dinner and was complaining, amazing how some people don't know what a regular hospital meal looks like , until today he never though he was eating any different that any ordinary person in a common room, not on a private pavilion, BTW someone famous was in the next room a small guy with a pony tale with body guards on the door and TV cameras too, no one will say his name, oh well. One of my favorite things to watch on TV is on the Summer Olympics love the diving, gymnastics, swimming and lots of other competitions.

I've been working like crazy since i came back, i had work all week i got a raise as a result of our trip so i guess i did good there, i love been back in NYC, i went back to my salsa aerobics class i missed it so much and my friends it was so good to see them all again, some more than others as normal, i went Thursday night to have dinner with my friend i enjoy so much his company, he is a very sweet, smart man one of those friends you can talk all day and time just fly by, we don't have to impress each other we are just good friends and that's a great feeling, we went to a Malaysian restaurant just that we have a little problem we always end up eating the same kind of food because is what we know so, we know how beef and broccoli o sweet and sour dishes taste in many different cultures we need to google for different kind of dishes, this Saturday i went to a Quantic leadership seminar (something like this)i happen to be with the people giving the seminar we had lunch and dinner together as well as my sister and a couple of other friends, it was very interesting, i learned a lot but mostly i loved the analysis one of the directors gave me of my personality i am not a bitch after all LOL i had explain to them that i am really trying harder to be more humble that i come out as an arrogant obnoxious bitch all the time, they said that unless people know me they are either "afraid" of me o just hate me, once people know me they know that i am just a strong woman but good person who simply loves herself and knows what she wants i have a very strong personality and don't have patience for BS and whiners, i was told that even though i love myself i have to still work on loving me more and allow myself to truly be happy, give up those fears i have, which i know is true, i was told most man are afraid of me, i am intimidating to them, so it will take a very special man to get to me, they advice me not to change my personality just work on those issues, i got home almost at 5am i am taking it easy today since i woke up at 3.30pm i am unpacking boxes UPS brought me and clothes from my trip i mailed home, i have to start preparing to this month i will have Nolan home August 15, 16 and 17 work my butt off August 18, 19 and 20 that night travel to Fl to the crop house August 20-25 then August 29, 30 and September 1st i will be with Luis and a group of friends in the Pocono mountains in Pa, then the SDV hey did i mention i will be busy???

I am home and i am so glad, is so true there is no place like home and this last week and 1/2 in Cape Cod was just boring, my boss' DH basically slept while we just hanged around the house, one of us was in the house at all times for him, my boss and i just took turns to get out, go walk by the beach, shopping o just drive out, we ordered our meals and had many mojitos, martinis and Cuba libre (rum and coke) watched TV o just talked, i got to scrapbook one of LB small scrapbooks that came with her Book4 nothing too creative but it felt great to do it, the best part was having my friend Kat coming Friday to help us drive one of the cars back to NYC my boss had her fly from Long Island she had delays but it was so good to see her, we went to Ptown for ice coffees and the back to the house we went for a walk at the beach and then to eat on a nice restaurant on PTown and back in the house we talked just looking at the stars and listening to the waves splash on the shore just sitting on the balcony of my bedroom, Saturday we drove back to NYC for like 10Hrs on an awful traffic and we stopped to eat and to help my boss with her DH, she came home with me where Jon picked her up, coming back to my routine is good, i was so happy to get home, my sister came and cleaned my apt and it was all nice and fresh the AC on already, nice and cool, i have Sunday and Monday off from work to unpack and rest, here are some pics of my last days at Cape Cod.

Second week at Cape Cod

The second week at Cape Cod was a lot different than the first, exactly at the middle of our trip while eating on a very nice restaurant my boss' DH started shocking and vomiting,to make the story short he seemed to be just fine when we got back on the house but a bit after getting in bed he started shaking and fever we called 911 and he was taken to Hyannis to the Cape Cod Hospital known for been the place where Ted Kennedy was taken when he got sick with his actual condition, anyway we stayed overnight and at home he slept for more than 24 hrs just waking up for bathroom and meds, he got an infection but was well enough to go home, his Dr in NY ordered a strong antibiotic which he started right away, also when we got home from the hospital he decided to get off the car by himself while i went to get his cane and his wife got off the car so he end up in the floor and it was such a pain to get him off the floor, scary but he got over all that in a couple of days, however by Sunday as soon as he woke up he asked o be taken to the hospital, but first my boss's parents had to be take to the airport to go back to NYC we spent the day at the hospital and he does has a strong infection called cellulitis so most likely we'll be spending sometime indoors however the Dr say is ok for him to swim we still go out to eat out for dinner because that's what he really likes "nice restaurants" and basically dinner is the only meal he really eats normally , also as result of his fall my boss decided we should switch rooms, mine downstairs for the master bedroom upstairs, i can't complain is beautiful specially the view, the old bed was more comfortable but he is a lot better downstairs and safer , i have more pics of the towns we've been in, we also went to the opera, i will post some later.

Whale Watching

We went to watch whales on a beautiful boat, they have done this for 17 years and they sill get very excited about it, i assumed that this been my first time seen whales other than an aquarium o a theme parks i was going to be shock with the size of creatures that are as big as the building i live in, however it felt like a movie, like I've been there already, they are amazing animals, beautiful and i kept trying to film with my flip as well as taking pictures and i go some pretty amazing pics and video, i was very pleased, it was a nice long ride miles out on the sea, it was very hot and sunny when we left Province town and when we got where the whales were it was just very serene, cold and cloudy then on the way back we got a rain storm i loved it, i was on the deck with just a couple of other people, everyone else just ran in, here are some pics and my first videos.

Cape Cod

I've been here a week and is been great I was afraid I was going to be bored to dead but it hasn't happen, I should tell you that since my road test was canceled I couldn't drive to Cape Cod they hired a driver for me and will do the same for the return to NYC kind of stupid because I drive here everywhere,sometimes with my bosses' parents that have a licence but most of the time alone and every single day but they are afraid of the police catching me , is been very nice the parents will be here only 10 days of the 3 weeks, they basically need help when they go up/down because they have poor balance, a crew of people comes 3 times a week and clean the house, I basically wake up 8.30-9 am get coffee ready,go get ready myself, drive to get the newspapers back home everyone eats the same thing every morning and they prepare them selves their own way,oatmeal, coffee and juice...every single day,I can't I need variety not to mention the only oatmeal I like is on a hot bath, between my boss and I prepare a light lunch for all, pack both cars and wait until everyone is ready, her parents as well as her DH are 88 years old she is like 62 and very nice to be around, we go to the beach set up the chairs and umbrellas, bring everyone to their seats and then we can sit O I can just go for a walk with my Ipod on, not too far, usually takes more time for us to get ready and set up that for them to decide they want to go home, they are cold O hot and just want to sit on the car on the AC I think is funny and I just go alone with whatever the day brings, we get home everyone takes a shower and get dress up and we go have dinner at a nice restaurant, we do it over and over every day,we are going to go on whale watches, tours and stuff like that I will make sure to take more pics,here are pics of the beach and the house we are in.

Well i packed Louis like he came from the repair shop, he opened the box and kept looking at him like he wasn't real, he looked at me and said "it can't be him" he got fat, so i had to show him pictures of Louis before his 100.000 washing machine encounters, he kept looking at him like he got back his long lost twin o something like that, he is now back in the school with him alone with Elvis(the monkey my BIL sent him) and Bubba (the monkey Dee sent him) to be with him because Louis was gone, thank you all again for helping me get Nolan back his friend.
BTW his clothes were given to us by a lady on a children store a few weeks ago i went to have breakfast with my friend Maryann and her DD Amanda and we went to a children store looking for preemies clothes for Louis and she asked how small was the child and i told her Louis story she went to the back room and got us 2 sweaters for Louis for free so sweet, the shoes i got with Kat at Babies-R-Us

Is been a crazy week,well longer than that, I've been getting ready to leave for 3 weeks Saturday to Cape Cod and i had to leave everything ready, i still have stuff to do but i can do that online, like pay my cell phone, stop my mail and stuff like that gosh i never expected to need so much stuff, from every adaptor and recharger to the blow drier to the coffee yeah i always bring my own coffee, i love America but the American coffee sucks, anyway i had to work Monday to Wednesday to have Thursday and Friday off so wed i went after work to pick up Nolan in Massachusetts and he is here, today we went to the beach and i look like half tomato my shoulders and arms look really red everything else is nicely tanned, Nolan is doing really well in school and will be home until tomorrow night, in the day we will go to the theater to watch "Get Smart" i have to bring him back in the afternoon, back home and in the morning i am leaving again to Massachusetts but this time to Cape Cod, also tomorrow we'll try to give Nolan his new Louis is packed like it came on the mail we are trying to figure how to give it to him and i will make sure to take pics, i am too tired but we took lots of pics at the beach too, i will add pics to this post as soon as i get a minute.
BTW the movie was so funny,i love it, if you watched the series is just amazing how good is it, if you didn't you won't get the jokes and him.

Paying forward

I have always tell you i am a very lucky person,i am very healthy, have a child i adore and makes my life complete, have a home i love, a good job and have wonderful friends and many people that have crossed my life and that for one reason or other have helped me, pay for my lunch, helped my son in some way, send him o me a card, a gift, gave me a ride, a hug when i needed it, a call, made me smile, I am very grateful to all of them but I can't always pay back so I decided a long time ago to pay forward and i think that has made such a big difference in how i live my life, this last few months (since May) I've been asking my friends for help trying to find a very special stuff animal for my son, I had responses from Louisiana to Massachusetts, South and North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, California, Texas, Pennsylvania from Albany to Florida and all my friends in NY and NJ i am probably missing a state but they kept an eye for us, anyway here is the story with the happiest ending, Louis was found and not just that, a second one is on the way too. This is Louis, when Nolan went to the boarding school where he is he was going through a rough time, been away from home was not what he wanted, my mother told him she will send him (from Venezuela ) a roommate a friend to go to school with and I got this monkey on a Hallmark store here in NYC and we pretend it she sent it and she named him after my brother who is the clown in the family, since he's been in school has been with him, his roommate in school had a bad day and end up pulling Louis legs off, i doubt i can fix it i rather try to get him another actually i should get a couple of them, however i can't find him anywhere, he is around 18 inches long from head to toes and comes naked (no shoes and sweater) no just for Nolan but for his now ex-roommate that feels very bad every time he sees Nolan and just keeps apologizing, we told him we'll send Louis to the shop to be fix, so i need you to please keep and eye for me on any Hallmark store in your area and of course i will pay for Louis and shipping, thanks you all in advance

Is been a while I've been ... you guessed .....busy, i seem to be having trouble finding enough hrs per day, i am getting ready for the summer,i am doing my best to loose some more pounds, buying clothes for a change, i hate to buy clothes but i found out that QVC has great clothes and i can try them at home and no bother with people, i need some nice ones because i will be in Cape Cod for 3 weeks is going to be "working in a vacation setting", it should be nice, not sure if fun but i know i will enjoy it, i have been getting ready to get my drivers license, my boss has no doubts i will pass the test because she rented me a car already, my road test is June26 my friend Kat is taking me and will have the chance to meet her new baby girl, i also got my plane ticket to go to Tampa Fl to a crop house at the beach in August, i still need to get the return from Orlando, that promise to be lots of fun i don't think i know everyone going but at least 2 of them, i will also have to bring Nolan home for a couple of days before leaving to Cape Cod I have lots to do still specially make sure to go to the gym at least 3 times per week, believe it o not i am not really excited about going away even though it will be very good $ i am not used to do that i am always either scrapping away o with my boy, i am taking my laptop,i may carry a scrap tote with stuff not sure if i can get inspired to scrapbook, i will be doing lots of designing and making jewelry as part of my job my boss think is fun, is OK but just not a hobby for me,is work, my friend Luis gave me a copy of all his music for his classes(salsa-aerobics) i will have my own room so i may be able to exercise there, my boss bough an I Pod for her and one for me, did i mention i have a great boss? that's why I'm going, her DH is delicate and she needs lots of help, her parents will be there too, so my music is on my Ipod, i will take lots of pics I'm sure, June 2nd was my friend Luis Bday i am sure he hates this pics but he doesn't know my blog , i went to a Hanna Montana Birthday today for a 12 year old i spent a total of 1 hr there after i ate and had a mojito, the mother as many right now seem to believe i need a man so she wanted to introduce me to her single brother from Fl .thank God it was a total mutual dislike, why can i be alone? i enjoy it, i have peace i am fine seriously, i am not depressed o anything like that, i am not looking for anyone,no yet, not at the moment, i am enjoying been alone, the quiet, not cooking, not doing anything for anyone at all, i am fine, i am happy as i am.

O maybe gets confused with arrogance, i am talking about me of course, I've always consider myself obnoxious but knowing i can also be humble,I have to, having a child with autism i have had to deal with a lot i am still doing it,most of the time i am consider a bitch because i can start as nice and as humble as i can but i think the fact that i am petite and my English is not perfect i think makes some people want to get away with stuff with me and when you are educated, smart and confident and know your rights then there is this crash of personalities, I've been battling with Barak Obama's personality and I've considered him obnoxious and i have to consider that even though i will forever despite his wife (no comments), he on the other hand may be able to become a great president, i hope racism and sexism in this country ends as we know it and this man can actually and hopefully with Hilary's help heal this country not only for us but for the world.

I don't have to tell you again i have had a busy week;
Monday i went to eat with my family then we just went shopping for Indian spices and condiments.
Tuesday i worked all day.
Wednesday i went again to the National Stationary show here in NYC i went crazy buying wax seals i got lots of rhine stone stickers, and got to know the owner of Dove of the East and i got stamps, rub-ons, paper and embellishments, just beautiful.
Thursday i worked all day then i ran like a maniac to my salsa aerobics class then dinner with a friend.
Friday you guessed more work, i plan to stay in my apartment all weekend i need to be home I've been coming home and just dropping packages, is a mess, i just need to sleep and some peace and quiet time.

I think is just the fact i know i am and i expect the best, this Saturday at Lyn's crop in benefit of Jason's Dreams for Kids i won 4 prizes 2 are mine 2 are for my friend Maryann who couldn't go and ask me to buy her tickets and she was also sure i will bring her luck so... we won, my biggest pleasure was to spend time with my friend Molly we got to talk a lot, then at the crop i sat with my friend Dee, Mama Lyn who is adorable, Linnea, Maryellen, Sue, Michelle and Joann, around me on the other tables friends i just love and i was able to chat and get a hug from most, i had the chance to talk and spend time to 3 of the most courageous women i know, Kate, Cathy and Debbi who are battering with circumstances in their life that are not the simple everyday BS and always have a smile on their faces, something positive and uplifting to say and take the time to ask me for Nolan and my life, i am so grateful to have them as my friends, they are a true example of what "value your life , breath and enjoy every second" means, basically my only purchase besides tickets for the raffles was 14 bottles of Glimmer Mist and their chipboard i got from my friend Stephanie at Scrap-a-Doodle-Doo her store in the crop,i also got a massage, i don't have to tell you that i was happy leaving that crop, after winning;

BTW at the crop I hardly sat at all so i didn't scrapbook at all but i had an amazing time. I went Sunday to the National Stationary Show and took a small class with Hambly Studios and Three Designing Women but best of all i got to see my friend Jane there we walked for a bit and got some goodies on the way.

Today i went to a very special Indian restaurant, one of those great little places most don't know and has very traditional food, great tasting and amazing prices, i was fascinated by the decoration I've never been in NYC in a restaurant like that, i felt like i was in some little street somewhere in India instead of Greenwich Village in NYC.

Memories Expo in NJ

I had such a great time at the Memories Expo, i took 2 classes and walked out with 2 finish projects so i was happy we got to know one of the teachers and she sat with us at the crop Friday as well as Julianna Hudgins
I managed to finish a whole 8 by 8 album with the pictures of last week's cruise, it came out really cute, not extremely elaborate just cute with lots of stickles, rhine stones, glitter and great pictures.
i won a prize, 'had a couple of drinks per night and spent too much money, i went crazy buying stamps, crackle paint, sticker to glitter, ribbons, rub ons and who knows what else i haven't unpack, one thing i didn't get was paper, i came home with the one that was given to us on the crop's gift bags, the 2 packs of bazzil i got as a prize and those from the demos on the expo but i didn't actually purchase any paper, we had a great time, we ate most meals at Ihop i saw a few friends on Saturday including the whole gang from The Scrappers Cove i always enjoy them, i also saw my friend Patty from Fiber Scraps is good to see the same people year after year, i've been going to this show since they came for the first time to NJ i think that is like 7-9 years already, here is a picture of Julianna who i met on the first Memories Expo and Lauren Nwachukwu a wonderful teacher that came for the first time to teach from Atlanta.

I think is time for an update, i know i won't have much time this month is busy, busy and i plan to have a blast, well i did some more organizing on my scraproom and on the process mess up some more but i managed to conquer small things here are the ribbons now;

I also went for the first time in many years to a social even that has nothing to do with autism o scrapbooking i went to a party on a cruise and i had so much fun, amazing how i go to the gym with all this girls and i didn't really knew much about them, I'm so not used to go to dance and just have fun, i work, make sure my boy is fine and go to the gym, on Sunday on of the girls from the gym called me and she sounded depress she had issues with her DH for been at the party with us so we got together, had a massage, went shopping and had lunch, nice girl time, i was supposed to go to the school today but Nolan had a rough weekend so the visit was canceled, i am cleaning this place and at the same time packing to go this weekend to the Memories Expo in NJ is going to be so much fun.

What happen when you have a computer that's acting out?? well you stay away from the computer, this long weekend(Sat,Sun,Mon) i decided to Evolve and was such an amazing experience, also i had lots of time and i actually made most of my meals i only ordered food Sunday's dinner, i worked on my scraproom i made a picture frame that was supposed to be a clock for Nolan's room from a Kit from Tres Chic Kits i changed a lot but i love it,i made a small scrapbook from the Set of 12 Accordion Fold Mini-Album Greeting Cards from QVC is too much to describe everything so if you have a question let me know, let's see.. the cabinets under the desk holds 8 1/2 by 11 paper as well as my jewelry and beading stuff, the purple partition is there to hold stuff is too much of an odd shape o i don't know where to put as well as some of the badges from the different conventions and retreats i go to but mainly to cover the mess behind the door where i have a huge collection of handmade paper in rolls i got a while ago, also paper cutters i have too many and my unfinished projects and small albums,the small round seat usually is just holding my tool bag and i can move it easy around the room as i need but is where i sit to scrap and the tool bag ends up on the floor,i usually scrapbook standing,the big chair has heat and massage settings the idea is to seat and read my SB magazines and books but usually the chair is just on the way, i still have stuff in the floor in my scraproom that i am trying to figure where to put but here it is.

I went back to Cabana to celebrate my nephew's Birthday with my sister and BIL, shared our time with Alexis one of the owners, fabulous food as always, the restaurant is on the NYC seaport and in a huge mall with lots of little shops and within all i found this man with a huge machine like a cricut and a hole maker like a cropadile just industrial size and i had him make metal street signs for the kids way cool (letters made of fine vinyl), i love them, i worked and i went to the gym for salsa aerobics 2 days and an extra one payed separate in benefit of women's cancer research, i killed my cell phone, I'll be waiting for my new one on Monday, other than that i haven't done anything interesting all week, i went last week to take my written test for my driver's licence, perfect score and i have to watch a stupid 5hr video then take my road test, I've been driving since i am 14 years old so I'll be fine, i have no plans to buy a car is stupid i have 2 train stations within 2 blocks of my apt and at least 30 different public buses, I'll rent cars to go see my boy, i do live in a very busy noisy area but i love to have it all to my reach, i am truly a city girl, here is a pic of the E-shirt i got with the most used words on my blog very cool (thanks Jessica) i assumed it would have a bunch of I and I and more I ...LOL

Is Nolan's 18 Birthday!!

Is Nolan's 18 Birthday i can't believe he is 18!!
he was here Saturday and Sunday he was just fantastic is been only a year and a few months since he is been at this school and he has change so much for the better he is still as happy, caring, silly and funny as always and still hyper, loud and impulsive but with a lot more self control, more responsible and appropriate, for his 18 birthday he chose to come home 2 days instead on me going there , today so he will celebrate with his friends at school we did here with my sister, her DH and little nephew Adrian who's Birthday is today too he is 11 today, we went out to one of Nolan's favorite restaurants an international buffet because of the crabs legs, octopus, sushi, sweet plantain and more yeah i have a very special kid, after we went to get some frozen drinks for them and espressos for us, he was home just chilling watching movies the rest of the time, here are some pics of us in the restaurant, Nolan teasing Adrian eating those little octopus, my nephew think this is gross and Nolan enjoy doing it just for him, at school his team leader is going to take pictures of his Birthday celebration there.

World Autism Awareness Day.!

I hope, i wish things start moving faster, i know there is more awareness however as long as there is not a cause there won't be a cure,i know Nolan was affected by the vaccines, do i think is the cause? no, i don't think so, i have always though that vaccines are just a trigger to some kids to develop autism, i think Nolan's immune system wasn't optimal he was perfect until he was 18 months even talking, however he had lots of ear infections he was in the hospital for 2 weeks came home got the vaccines and a week later he wasn't talking and regressing so fast, he didn't talk until he was 4, now he doesn't shut up! thank God, early intervention and a lot of work, many schools and treatments including The Son-Rise program which most of all made me aware and realistic about autism and how much better his life could be, how to be on his shoes and see the world the same way autistic children do, i hope this month bring that push, that reinforcement that all of us that have a love one with autism need to get more services and programs for our kids.

Computer issues here

I've been busy as always i admit it, i am just busy all the time and besides that i have been having issues with my computer, anyway between my news; Nolan was home 3 days and he did so good, he was very pleasant and i enjoyed it so much, our only issue was sleeping, he doesn't want to sleep and may be my fault because at school they don't have TV(and everything else he wants) on their rooms and he has roomates, that can be fixed, we watched Enchanted and The Bee again and again, i also registered for The Memories Expo in NJ in May thanks to my friend Dee who called me to remind me and end up doing it for me because my computer was going nuts, i signed for 2 classes and she did for 1, we got a hotel room, we'll have a blast i'm sure, now we just have to wait.

Some stuff has been fixed on the computer, my nephew in FL is still trying to figure how i've manage to mess up the computer, here are some pics, with my sister, little nephew and niece on St Patricks day when she came for my sister's Bday and Nolan at home with meds on his face, a big baby watching TV all weekend.

I had work all week , my sister's birthday on Wednesday night her friends organized her a dinner at Cabana which is a very cool restaurant on the NYC Seaport one of the owners is her friend, is great Caribbean food i would say Cuban either way great food and i helped my niece come to NY from FL to surprise her, we had lots of fun we were probably 20 of us also on Thursday i went to Manhattan to an event to honor the people that help children with disabilities get a job places like Citicorp, Barnes and Noble, Old Navy,Modells and many more, the invited artist was Susan McKeown an Irish singer-song writter Grammy winner, the art pieces presented to the honorees were done by Susan Brown a painter who happen to be autistic, the event was at night and i hated missing my salsa-aerobics class but Joshua Skolnick invited me he is not only my friend and he helped me so much with Nolan and getting the amazing school he has now and he is also the director of this program in NYC and on The Shield Institute which is Nolan's old school, he was there for at least 5 years and even though i am not a fan of formal events, this was a pleasant reminder of how lucky i am to have Nolan and that there is still so much to do for him and other children with autism, is amazing how much the view of people with disabilities has changed on the eyes of the public, specially autism, when Nolan was born 1 in 1000 children would become autistic, now 1 in 150 i don't know why isn't everyone frick out, it took me so long to get the right school for Nolan, he is on Massachusetts and we live in NYC that is not a good sign, the world has to get ready for the fact that this 1 in 150 kids now, will become adults and will need work and housing, i think this is the fear of every parent with a child with disabilities, i want to keep my child with me forever and protect him from any and every harm like i think any parent will, Nolan happen to be a special child who has express the wish to live on his own, he started working with Joshua when he was 13 just going to different stores buying newspapers for the people on the school building, so he had to go to the store and get each newspaper,New York Times, Daily news, Post, Wall Street, Spanish, Greek newspapers each one and get change for each person and deliver to the right person, the following 2 years he worked at the local Queens Library and it happened to be the right place for him, he can't tolerate much noise, he loves books and movies so it was just perfect for him, at Kolburn on the first school meeting the first request from him was to go back to work, he works on their token store, has worked on the nursery, growing and caring for the plants they sell, Joshua's program is great and at least for Nolan had been a way to feel useful and more part of the community, here is a slide of pics of Nolan at work and also the event and my sister's birthday.

"Sunday in the park with George"

Is has been a quick week with lots of work.
Monday I went to do my taxes, shopping and to eat with my sister on the way back I couldn't breath with such an awful back pain, took some pills and decided to rest instead of going to the PT then on Wednesday I had some pain again but I didn't wait I took a pill because I was at work and in the middle of the day, I haven't had any more pain, I went to my 2 weekly salsa aerobics classes and I am glad because is something I really enjoy,.Friday night I went to see a Broadway show "Sunday in the park with George" great music and special effects, is the interesting story inspired by the painting "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" by Georges-Pierre Seurat and how he supposedly is the real father of the Impressionism, with my son adoring Monet humm no sure if I can agree but then again I wasn't there but it was very interesting, fun most of the time there were probably around 15-20 min really boring on the second part, is been raining like crazy here in NYC as well as most of the country so...
I am just been lazy, watching TV, doing nothing I may finally get in my scraproom and do something useful.

An Asian treatment for my back

I went to see the PT as you may remember i live in an Asian neighborhood so my Dr is Asian, he first told me that he really rather i don't take meds and if that was my purpose he could help me he has a pain management office they do PT and rehabilitation, he figure it is a muscular pain that we don't know where it came from,I was given a treatment with electrodes that give you like electrical impulses ( like galvanic energy) and over a heat pad, then I had an ultrasound,then I got acupuncture, then a massage, this last woman came and told me to relax that the needles were good for me so I explained that I never had that before and i told her to take some pictures so I could see it, she laughed but she did, she was nice, here are the pics I didn't even know i had that infra red light on , I have 12 treatments covered in the next 3 months and if necessary he can ask for up to 20 with my insurance, is muscular so i hope it doesn't take that long, is not too bad looking for the right spot was painful, the needles itself are not painful once those are in, they are hair thin needles, BTW as you can imagine i asked for a needle to put on my scrapbook well that lady looked at me like i was really nuts, they put these needles on a sterilizing machine as soon as are used and come out individually packed, cool humm? but i can't get one bummer oh well, yesterday was the second treatment bad day I was on bed all day, it only helped for a few hrs, I will go back twice next week, got some drugs too, just in case but i hate to take meds so I haven't even taken the prescription to the pharmacy,I've used a heat pad and only once took the meds I had here.(BTW i copied most of this from my post on the SDV board)

I had an amazing time at our Absecon SDV, we got there Wednesday and came back Sunday, i had great roommates: Molly, Nancy and Debby, the food was great, room and beds fabulous, I got to see my friends and got to spend time with most of them, talk and share stories, I am missing some of them on my pictures but I believe I got a hug O a hello from everyone, I made 20 pages 1 page for the contest which will be for a canvas at home, 4 pages from 2 make and takes from Michelle, an entire album (Revolving ATC Holder 7Gypsies) and a shadow box on 2 classes I took from Danielle, I also took 1/2 yoga class because we were late but I loved it, I went to the gym 3 times not for long but i got into the elliptical machine o bike to listen to the news on CNN I took 3 massages with Ray who is a very strong, experienced massage therapist and were great massages and I know everyone is tired of listening to this: I really missed Michael he is not only a massage therapist been a Raiki master gives him the advantage of a healing touch that can't be easily replaced, I can't wait to go to my next SDV and I have to decide which one to go to, I miss all my friends already I hope to see most of them at Lyn's crop in May, Ok a comment on the glasses we were wearing; Maryellen (FontQueen) got them for some of us, those were a lot of fun, you can't see anything with them that's why we are all looking up, they were was such a hit.

I saw my big boy last Tuesday, he is so sweet he made be a Valentine boy(a paper figurine) he wants me to re-marry, just like that, since he was like 7 years old he is been asking me for a sister and he doesn't want me to be alone, there is no way he will get a sister from me in this life time, his father has at least one daughter and really feel in peace alone, i eat when i want, go out and come back when i want, spend my money as i please, i don't have to explain myself to anyone i really like that, of course there are other things like company, maybe i had such an awful marriage that i can't imagine my self living with someone, i think that if is meant to be he'll find me.
I am this weekend running like crazy i am so very behind on my packing for my SDV i have Saturday and Sunday to make sure is all done, i work Monday and Tuesday to leave Tuesday night to Molly's house, then go scrapbook with my friends Wednesday to Sunday i am so looking forward to this time away, waiting so long for Feb to go and now is so close, so exciting, i will make sure to have fun, spend time with my friends and sure scrapbook too, i have registered for 2 classes one with Danielle and the other a Yoga energizing class, i will figure if i want another class when i get there, i'll make sure to take lots of pics, i will also bring my Flip i may post a video.
I manage to take a couple of pics of Nolan he asked me to make sure i "fix" his face before posting o printing, he is starting this week a medical treatment for his face and this is the view from his window.

The Dragon Dance

I went out because i had a Drs appointment but also because I've been listening to the drums play all morning, today is the Dragon Dance they go store by store and since i live in a very commercial neighborhood i saw 3 different ones just within 4 blocks, i had one dance for me, i was on his way LOL here is the meaning,
Dragons are of course legendary animals, but they are important to Chinese people who think of dragons as helpful, friendly creatures. They are linked to good luck, long life and wisdom. Dragon dances are performed at New Year to scare away evil spirits. During the dance the performers hold poles and raise and lower the Dragon. Ok i admit it even though i am right in Flushing NY which is consider Chinatown i forgot the parade this morning what a shame is such a beautiful show and a great pic opportunity, oh well i had a good excuse for once, i was packing and preparing for my SDV but here is some interesting info i found and some pics.

Busy times

Things are getting Aghhhhh with time, I'll be going to visit Nolan on Tuesday hope to take some great pics of my boy besides going for a school meeting, i need to squeeze my boy, i have lots of work to do to get lots of work days off because I am also getting ready for my SDV , the night of Tuesday Feb19 I will be leaving to Molly's house so we can Wednesday morning go to Absecon NJ which is like 10 minutes from Atlantic City no like I've ever been in AC but close enough maybe this year I'll go along with the girls, so this weekend i am pre-planing my Lo's making page kits and trying to stuff it all in 2 very little rolling bag, not packing much clothes because who needs clothes? really we basically walk around the hotel on PJ's O yoga pants so that's what I'll bring, of course there is more than that,... foldable shelves, a large mat and toiletries and I better not forget the chargers for the cell phone O camera, vitamins, hair stuff, make up....... I will check my list a lot so I can be sure is all there no unnecessary extras just enough to be away from home from Wednesday -Sunday on a fabulous scrapbooking vacation with my friends, I received the QVC TSV of craft day I got both colors so I got it all separated and packed what I think I'll use on my SDV besides I'll be taking this prize I won at The Scrapbook Site I love it, i should also stay away from the computer.

I can't imagine starting a year better than i had, my gynecologist found out my 4 ovarian cyst either disappear o shrunk to a point of not been a concern any more,i can't be happier,Nolan has been behaving like an obnoxious prince in school so i haven't been able to go see him,i think the fact that he was home twice gave him his "power" to behave like he can't care less if he gets in trouble,making jokes on the other kids, stupid stuff like hiding the pillows under the bed funny for him not for another autistic child that can't get jokes,he is fine and he is going to have to learn i will probably go see him on Feb12 when is the school meeting.
Yesterday i went to NJ to a crop to benefit research for children's cancer,it was so nice to see so many friends,weird feeling to no been chatting between tables,i actually manage to make 3 double page Lo's including a great Make and take by Michelle a CTMH rep. i had a good time,great food and of course as normal Kat and i got lost both ways,people has to realize i don't have sense of direction at all,i can walk to the train and get anywhere,i sit on a car and you drive and figure it out i can't even follow the maps or google instructions, i feel more motivated to go to my next SDV at the end of February, i was really thinking a lot, i may have to register for the Disney SDV i was supposed to go to Virginia Beach next weekend and it was cancel and i will miss seen some friends anyway Disney sounds like a good idea always.

I just got my new snickers,i plan to use them everywhere i can, to see if they actually make a difference,i ordered them from HSN and i have 30 days to give them a try,i love this TV shopping channels,i don't have to go to the stores to deal with people and is delivered to my door after having someone talked and explain to me everything i need to know on the TV,i think everyone that knows me has figure i get anything from steaks to a mop on QVC and HSN. they have great scrapbooking stuff too but for sb i use them mostly for their Specials for the Day and because there are not scrapbook stores in NYC just some craft stores.

What a year this has been,I can only be grateful, is been a hard year I have learn a lot, do you know I thank God and life everyday when I wake up for the day ahead and at bed time for the experiences I lived? this year I think I've done that in a more heart felt way, I am as strong and healthy as always maybe more, I got fatter than ever and lost lots of that weight already, I am not obsessed with getting skinny, I've been really skinny already and it's not something I will be willing to sacrifice myself for, I want to be fit, look well on the clothes I choose and most of all be healthy, be in peace and enjoy my life, this year having Nolan away was very hard I have been always in control of everything Nolan does, eat, wear, what he listen to, what he watches, who he talks to, I used to basically live on stress at all times, used not to sleep and never been relax, is not easy to from one day to another just have your life change, is been hard for both, his resistance to change was worse of course, he is a smart autistic boy but a typical Aries too ,we have grown and I am sure this next year will be magnificent, lots to do, we have 366 days ahead to have a happier fuller life is a leap year actually we'll have an extra day.

Yesterday I had the chance to go to see Wintuk at the Cirque du Soleil at the Madison Square Garden,my boss grandchild parents are getting divorce and the boy decided to stay with his father so I went on his place, they had great seats but my boss DH couldn't go up the stairs so we were seated not on the first seats but in front of them, meaning we could just get up and on 3 steps we could get on the stage. the first 20 min O so thought that was really boring and then it got so... outstanding all the way to the end I felt like a little kid playing with so much "snow" at the last few min of the show,when I took Nolan to see "A Christmas Carol" I had to get us front seat tickets because I knew the "snow" was only for the center no more than the first 2 roads, this time was amazing the amount of snow flakes die cut confetti they sent down in the whole theater just fabulous! everyone was just amazed, I wished so much I could have Nolan next to me, I love how he is fascinated by shows and the music, which was.... spectacular I got him a CD with the music, a cup and a scarf from the show more than $60 and he wasn't even with me, imagine that, I had a great day!

Soon all will be over, LOL seriously, i need the holidays to be over,I went to Massachusetts to pick up Nolan on Sunday morning he was too excited and we had to stop and get Dramamine and ginger ale because he felt nausea once he got home he was just fine,opened his presents got everything he asked for,i assumed with so many movie DVD's he was not going to be interested on everything else well he loved the collection of classical music CD's and his harmonica,he couldn't care less about the clothes,shoes and stuff like that(that most be inherited too) he listened to some music before putting on Harry Potter, Ratatouille or any other movie, he got from My sister, niece, nephew, my boss and me, he kept practicing with the harmonica, i'm so glad "that" went to school with him LOL, my sister and nephew came home to stay over night,my sister insisted on cooking Venezuelian holiday food so Saturday i got everything and started the part that need it to be on wine over night so she did everything else, Sunday we went to the theater to watch National Treasure: Book of Secrets.
back home to eat and then it was time to go back to school,Over all he was a bit too excited for my taste, maybe i forgot what was to have him at home all day and night,the noise, not to sleep all night and the messy house, autism apart, he is a spoil child that is used to do things his way, it felt bad to report it all to his team leader but that's the only way we can all correct his behaviors, regardless i am grateful he was able to be home for the holidays i enjoy him a lot, no many pics and no very good either but here are a few.

Well as much as I've try to stay away from the craziness of the holidays is not easy,i went to see Nolan last Tuesday as i went to a school meeting,very good news when it comes to attention ,participation and learning over all neat handwriting which is a miracle because of how short his attention span is no so good with math (that may be inherited) his Dr was on the meeting and was not happy Nolan could come home at all,i agreed on a short over night visit non holiday so he will come on Dec 23th and spend the night home and back to school the 24th wish us luck please it will be his first over night away from school,i went to NJ on Friday morning to Molly who was a bit stress with a Xmas party they planned for Saturday i saw many of our friends there,was a fun party i came home Sunday afternoon it had been snowing here but was basically over by the time i got home,I spent all day Monday home,doing all kind of stuff and playing with Imeem.com i like it better for music playlists than YouTube.com i can chose videos o not so it works better for me,i have to work Tuesday,Wednesday and Friday Thursday i have my sister come home to help me clean and organize the scraproom mainly,i have then a dentist appt for a deep cleaning and Salsa aerobics class,then is just make sure is all ready for Nolan to be home those 2 days,here are some xmas pics from Molly's party.

Here are the cards i made on the crop house,i'll have a busy week changing my days of work so i can go to Massachusetts to a school meeting where we'll decide what to do for Xmas,Nolan is so hyper,every day something new,i just want the holidays over,seems like this every year i think is kind of normal on families with autistic kids i think that we all get overwhelm they just don't know how to cope with it,Wednesday is my Bday also,i got me a sewing machine,my friend Esther is coming back today from Argentina,she is a seamstress for Lord & Taylor i will ask her to teach me how to use it,here is a pics,i can't wait to use it is Singer from HSN the weekend i'll be going to Molly's for her Xmas party.

Boob tests

Tuesday I went to what were supposed to be my last test for my right boob at least for this year,got a sonogram and a mammogram and the Dr said i need it a Dillon/Dilan test whatever is called i couldn't even find info on it I would get ink injected on my breast and then it would be analyzed with another machine,as well as a new sonogram and mammogram,I got out of there so mad but I had to wait another day to get piss off, the breast surgeon doesn't want that test, he wants what my Dr asked from the beginning, an MRI I wanted just to smack him of course no yet possible through the phone,so no much i can do, I am not worry just annoyed but I know is better to be safe than sorry and I am grateful my Drs living in NYC have the best available technology and I have an insurance that hopefully will keep covering all this.

I just came back from the Cozy Crop House on Lancaster Pa. I had so much fun as always is a pleasure traveling and rooming with Nancy, Debbi and Molly enjoy been with Cecilia, Lori and Ilysee and getting to know Dee and Mary, we went shopping several times I spent too much money (worth every penny) came back home with $10 amazing, good thing I got my train tickets ahead of time,i made 40 yes i said 40 holiday cards beautiful and all different i will take some pics later,i also made 7 pages on a pre-made Xmas album for a gift no too fancy though,nothing else i had a good time also took another 10 hr nap LOL. I came home to find out i was selected by EK Success to be in their Consumer board for 2008 i got a new adhesive to try,so excited to get to try new products and give my opinion on them.

I am on my way to NJ to meet Molly and some of the other girls that are going with us to the Cozy Crop House in Lancaster PA,I will be making my holiday cards I have so many people to send cards this year, so many amazing friends that have been so good to Nolan and me, I am very bad going to the post office and sending cards of any kind, I am bringing some scrapping material just in case I decide to scrap a few pages since this time is a day longer, Thursday to Sunday,I hope to have lots of fun, only 4 of us were on the last trip is a bit different group and as always I hope to have lots of fun and enjoy every minute there.

Well is only been a tradition since I came to US in Venezuela my mother would go to church and pray for hrs giving thanks to God. This thanksgiving day was my son's turn to come home for the first time in a year just a day ahead , he came home yesterday with a staff from school, he was so excited to be home,trying to find every toy,movie and book he could remember I think it was great for him to be here and see home, grasp for real the fact that this is home and Kolburne is school, we went to see The Bee Movie we just love it,great movie,went home for most of the day he just wanted to watch movies and touch everything, in the afternoon we went to a great Chinese restaurant on the area and had dinner then came back home to pack all the scrapbooking supplies I am donating, his camera and his TV (he wants a flat one)they got to school around 9.30pm he really did great here, we have high hopes for Christmas at home maybe he can stay a few days maybe Saturday to Tuesday,I have a couple of invitations for tonight but I really feel just like been home.

I finally finish my clock, this is going to be on my scraproom, i absolutely love it, is from a class i took at an SDV this year, from Danielle and Lynette @ Tres Chic Kits i also bought the kit for boys, as always i kind of adapted the design to my needs, this used to say "timeless" and at the bottom XOXO also the boy's one but mine will say Nolan and will have the XOXO at the bottom, i added lots of Stickles and rhine stone brads also i changed the buttons to clear ones, Nolan's clock; that i haven't started yet.

Is sunny and chilly here wow, well i like the cold weather, unless it gets under 30*-35* is way better for me than hot humid weather, even though this summer was not bad at all in NYC not extreme heat or humidity but nothing like the Caribbean either, I've been busy, busy at home getting this place ready for Nolan he will be home Nov 21 for a whole day with a staff from school we are both very happy and excited just that Nolan has a hard time with such emotions and he is been so hyper and silly and we know is just that he is over excited but sometimes he is just too much and gets in trouble, i saw him the week of Halloween and he was wearing his Charlie Brown T-shirt staff had a hard time getting him to keep it off, i got him all his needed winter clothes 2 sizes smaller than last winter i love that he still wants to over eat but is been kept under control, yesterday i went to Pennsylvania, Kat and i were supposed to go as vendors to a crop, our goggle directions took us to Philadelphia we got there around 7am and looking for a place to eat we got lost on a place call Candem OMG what a scary place and i am a New Yorker i ride the trains everyday and i walk alone everywhere and not just now for the last 23 years i mean NYC is way safer now but gosh the more we try to get out of there the most we got in, finally looking for the building for the crop we called a friend who realized the place was like 2 hrs away from where we were it was already 8.30am and the lady to whom we never got a phone# wanted us there before the people got in so that was 9am so we need it a helicopter so we decided that made no sense to go and came back home, such a waste of money and time but we can't blame anyone the directions on the crop site were from the PA turnpike and Google gave us other instructions from NYC.well i have tons of stuff to do at home between today and Tuesday,getting organized is such a pain but i hope to be all very worth it.

This last 2 months i have learn that i am a fabulous woman(well i knew that) just that now i know for sure of what i am made of, besides been very lucky i am strong spiritually, physically and mentally, perfect?? humm.... no just yet, i started seen so many people as they are and appreciate them, been objective is good and bad i have learned to accept people as they are, i think that's good, specially my family, it will keep my mind sane just to think that they are just the way they are, I've also learn that you can't get depressed if you are busy, surrounded by beautiful people and things, i think that having a strong mind can change your perspective of what each day is and should be, i am enjoying the here and now, i learned to appreciate my job, do i have a non sophisticated job? maybe, i am someone's personal assistant and no matter what i thought before i can truly appreciate my job now, it pays very well, with a very flexible schedule where i only have to deal with my boss sometimes her DH but is non stressful and I've been there more than 20 years amazing but true, also whenever I need to change my hrs I can, I always have and she has helped me a lot while I raised Nolan alone by been flexible and compassionate always interested on his well been, i also learn is very hard for me to allow others to get that close to me, I learned to trust my friends, the most unexpected people came to give me a hugs or a cyber hug or a kind word of hope, the best and worse part of living alone specially in NYC is that if you fall you need to get up and keep going o the world will step all over you, I had to get up, breath deep and keep going, i am grateful that even though the Drs found several issues with me none will be disturbing my life, i don't have ovarian cancer as was suspected also i don't have endometriosis, my very long periods can only be control with the pills but i am not going to take it, the Dr told me that my body doesn't seem to be any close to menopause no sure why he thought that was bad news but I'm ok with it, the longest wait was to find out test after test that there is not a tumor or a cyst in my breast so no breast cancer either, i still have 2 more test to be done but the breast surgeon said that those have to be done to get the clearance from the other Drs but he said that everything is normal, while all this happen I learned I have 2 other friends with breast cancer, they are on my mind and on my heart, I want to apologize to so many friends I didn't said anything to, telling all this again and again was very overwhelming, I am today grateful for my life, for having my handsome boy healthy and learning more each day, having a home, a good job and good friends around me, thank you all those that had the chance to know and be with me thorough this time.

Busy week

I went Saturday to Lyn's crop in NJ as always was lots of fun,smaller than the last one,food was amazing,so good and so much,i was not very productive,i think i made 5 8 1/2 by 11 lo's for "My favorites things on life" album,the Dr called me there to tell me i needed an specialist and gave me the # talked to many people and felt really overwhelmed i was not able to focus on much more after that so much that i didn't take a picture that can give you an idea i am waiting for "someone" to give me her pics, I came back Sunday morning to NYC to pack Nolan's winter clothes and Monday i went to see him,the school staff is helping me so i can spend more time with Nolan when i go to the school so i was picked up from the train and drop off at the bus so it worked a lot better it allows me more time with Nolan,he is fine just superhyper but i know is the holidays that's kind of normal,we decided he is coming home one day with a staff member by Thanksgiving time,a few hrs we'll be home and then go out to eat and he'll be back to school,he needs to stop scratching his leg his wound is been open for too long, he doesn't have an infection anymore but since he had that awful infection that's affecting kids and is resistant to antibiotics we are all keeping an eye on him,I added all the pics in one slide show of"My favorite things in life"

I've been busy, unpacking, cleaning and reorganizing that seems to be the story of my life this year, well i am grateful i am packing and unpacking because that means i am traveling, then i have to comeback home deal with my mess, you know is not messy, not dirty is disorganized, for too many years i accumulated so much stuff, right now i am swimming on paper; medical papers, legal papers, school papers, old and new mail, scrapbook related stuff and i got yesterday my prize from Stacy Julian(for answering right a question on her blog ) she sent me exactly what I've been using the most, thickers which i paint, ink, stickles and change all the time so practical and rub-ons for boy what can be better for someone that has a boy? and blue stickers, i will add her "ScrapBig" button to my lanyard i use for my SDV's and conventions, you can see that in my Lo's from last weekend i used mostly Thickers and rub-ons as well as ribbons, rhine stones and stickles, here is a pic of the prize i got and my Lo's of my favorite things in life as well as a demo from last week and 2 double lo's i manage to finish,i made another but is not finish.

Is been very busy since i came home from Fl. Tuesday at 12.30am, but let me tell you I had a very relaxing ,peaceful time there,is such a beautiful house, I got the chance to spend time with Nancy and Lois a lot,Nancy looks fabulous and Lois is a sweet soul I really enjoy them,we went out to eat and shopping several times then the whole group came Friday and became more busy and actually scrapped 3 double page lo's, won a prize on a challenge and I started making the album Michelle Hill has on her web site about "My favorite things on life" I think mine will have more than 25 and probably will be an ongoing thing and I will finally use so much beautiful 8 1/2 by 11 paper I have from ClubScrap,we had good food and good times I think for me was sort of a comforting place to be,I received a call from my Dr telling me that I need one more test so my friend Cheryl put me in contact with Laura who is someone I trust and love to make things clear for me,having the support of my friends had been really amazing,I also had the chance to spend all day with Daphne and I even got to go to my BIL house, fabulous place my nephew should be living there but that's a long story,I went on my last day to have breakfast with Lois, Daphne and Nancy then Nancy left for an appointment and we went to a Disney outlet store where I went nuts, then I got to go to The Mouse memories store that place is packed with everything you need if you have made a trip anywhere,then we went to another scrapbook store where we met my BIL who took Daphne and me to a great restaurant and we had fabulous food and then we went to see his house after we were looking for Big Lots so I could get Nolan the T-shirt Daphne was wearing we never got that one but found another one with Charlie Brown and the Big Pumpkin then it was time for the airport,I sat next to a handsome Spanish guy who became different colors as the plane took off (as well as the landing) I asked for a vodka and ice and he got a beer and we ate lots of olives I made sure to take with me to have with my vodka,we talked all the way to NY so it was very pleasant and I have not stopped since I got home, went to work and saw the Dr on Tuesday then waited for FedEx and UPS, on Wednesday I worked all day and I received an invitation for another scrapping weekend at the crop house in Lancaster this one in November, life is good,Tomorrow I have the day off I will be cleaning and unpacking I have lots to do, here are the pics from the Fl crop house(click on the pic for a better look),i will post my Lo's later.

Well, another week, I've been running like crazy between work and preparing for my next scrapping adventure, I will know all the medical tests results when I'm back from Fl.
I will be from today until next Monday in another Crop House this time in Fl with my friends Nancy, Daphne and Cheryl, hey I am liking this traveling for scrapping I should get a job doing this LOL i will of course take as many pics as I can (as always) and post them as well as the whole story of my days there.

I had the most amazing time at The Cozy Crop House with a fabulous group of ladies; Maryellen, Lyn, Molly, Debbie, Dee, Patty, Jami, Laura and Nancy, we laugh so much all weekend, we celebrated Maryellen and Molly's birthdays, i scrapped 20 pages, i rested, went shopping, had fun, ate the most delicious meals cook by them and clear my mind a lot, i would do this again with the same group anytime, they are all talented, funny, non judgmental and specially no whiners (do you know i hate whiners?? ) i think the place itself is magical, has a very nice light energy and as i mention in a board it was great been a place where we felt at home, where you can talk, dress and behave as yourself not as other expect o want you to be, be inspired to scrap all day and night and take a 10hr nap, on the way out we had to reprogram our brain so we could talk to our spouses, kids and bosses on a proper manner, we made a circle and chanted alternate words to those we said and heard all weekend including those that sound Italian, Lets do it again soon girls, miss you all.

Well, i decided that since i can't do anything at all until i get all my tests redone, one Tuesday next week and another oct9, I'm not going to worry at all, got a new haircut and the sudden feeling of wanting to enjoy every moment and person around me, ignore those that annoy me, enjoy those that bring a smile to my face just to think of them and you know i am very lucky, i do have lots of those people on my life, from my son to good friends I know love me and care about me, I'm leaving today to my friend Molly's house and tomorrow we'll be with an amazing group of friends,enjoying a fabulous weekend at The cozy crop house, I plan to scrap as much as I can, I have lots of page kits on my luggage, i may just have lots of fun, hopefully i can do both,I will post some pics when I come back.

I think that for the first time in my life have experience what psychosomatic pain is, Tuesday when i left the Gynecologist i ran 2 blocks up to my regular Dr so he could explain the test results to me, he did several times comparing the blood, urine tests with last week tests and he looked at me and told me "you look scared LOL" playing with me, i looked at him like WTF is your problem, he told me to relax, no to worry, that we have to re-do all the tests after i get my period and others every month and one more every six months, he said if i told you before you should loose some weight i can tell you now you most loose weight and specially limit the intake of fats then he looked at the tests he said well nothing extreme because really you don't have high cholesterol and your liver functions are perfect, i went home sat on the computer for hrs trying to get more answers online, nothing new, i started having pains on all the areas the Drs mention, pains i never had and Wednesday i went to work all day and not a second i didn't think about it, i had pains all day, on the way home i stopped at different stores to get stuff Nolan wanted, in the night i got a call from my SDV friend Mimi we talked for a whole hr we laughed and talked about her childhood, Nolan, SDVs, friends and who knows what else she had the wisdom no to ask me about all that medical stuff and when i hanged up i packed all Nolan stuff still with a smile on my face and then i realized that all that hr i didn't have pains because my mind was not focus on that, i started analyzing all that has gone through my mind from leaving Nolan alone, to stop going to my salsa aerobic classes in order no to hurt myself o make things worse, it was a weird feeling to realize what my fears were doing to my mind and body, Today because o school issues i had to go by bus to Massachusetts those are 3 hrs and 40 min each way so, lots of time to think, i realize that if the Dr didn't give me any restrictions and before Friday i didn't know i had any issues because there are no symptoms then why just because now i am aware of this i have to change my life? i feel great and i will not stop doing what i always do, however one thing will be good to do, i realize that if I'm gone, no one is going to make my scrapbooks for my son and i just keep waiting and my scrapping is not serious for the amazing amount of pics that i have, today my son walked with me, holding my hand, he told everyone the great mom he has and that he was so proud of me because now we were both getting thinner, i don't need more motivation that my sweet boy that adores me and for whom i would do anything.

I love to hear this man talk and read his books, he is truly inspiring, i had a lousy day and i wish i had someone empowering around me, i will share later, right now I'm exhausted and confused, i will wait, i think i need some time and some silence around me, on a more exciting note I'm so happy I'm going to go see Nolan he keeps telling me he can't wait to squeeze me LOL like mother like son i guess, i plan to take lots of pics on Thursday.

I woke up at 7am on Friday just to have my coffee, talk about addiction LOL well i was not going to be able to have anything but water for 6hrs,i went to my salsa aerobics class and came back home feeling like i was run down by a truck, took a little rest and a loooong bath, got ready and went to my tests, thanks so much Nancy for your encouragement so sad while i went to my mammogram she went to her last chemo to start radiation on Monday i was so afraid and stressed about my mammogram because all i heard and was my first, i can say honestly it was not painful it was the most weird uncomfortable thing ever, having a very large dense breast i assume i was going to scream for my life but it was really fast and no there is no way they could squeeze my breast like pancakes is just impossible to do, so if you haven't have yours done please do yourself a favor and don't have preconceived experiences affect you, I think we are all different and like Nancy told me: open your mind and relax after all you have to do it every year.
On the other tests: an abdominal and pelvis sonograms, the first done because i have a Lipoma a marble size ball of fat a bit lower than my breast , i had one on my right thumb and is gone now but Dr wanted to just check it our but for the radiologist is abdomen and that means from the bottom on my breast to my pelvis and the sides so i had that goo/blob/slimmy stuff all over yuck, well the only that concerns me is the pelvis sonogram i had a gallon of water on and this lady pocked me for a long time while doing the test i went to the bathroom and when i came back she told me "i know you are going to have to come back to get this done so lets do it" so it was an internal sonogram i assume she saw fibroids i was expecting that, i had them before so did my mom and aunt and grandma died from ovarian cancer, I'll get the results next Tuesday when I see the gynecologist, hopefully I have nothing weird to report, still have an uncomfortable light pain from that test.

I think as long as i live I'll remember this images, i had to cross the 59th Street bridge to get home on 9-11-01 i was working when this happen and got stuck in Manhattan after, not knowing how to get home, Nolan was home with my sister and got hysterical, he was 11 but after seen the towers go down again and again on TV, his mind just assumed all Manhattan was falling, 2 days after i had to take him to Manhattan and show him that it was only the WTC, is a very sad day, i have to assume for all Americans, just that in NYC is on every face and soul, no saddest day than this in NYC, today i am grateful we continue safe and pray for the safe, immediate return of our troops.

I think i am over excited and greatful i should add i know is stupid but i realized I've been wasting a lot of money i know that's not good But even getting my ClubScrap kit, ClubScrap Jr kit and Scrappy Giraffe Kit and paying all my bills i should have at least that same amount extra and i only work 3 days per week(thank God), i just finished paying all my bills but one, also my unexpected trip for the end of the month, my plane tickets to Fl to go scrapbook with my friends and Tuesday I'll have finish paying all my bills of the month and have extra money wed and Thu to prepare to go see Sept15 my brother upstate NY and the 20th to go see my sweet boy in Massachusetts,i'll finish paying the Fl balance and I'll be free to save to shop all i want on my end of the month trip, only down side is that i can't pay a housekeeper for now if i go through with all my plans for the month, is a very busy month for me also stressful i have the mammogram and sonogram on a Friday14 and i just hate to think on been squeeze that way

I need this LOL after watching this program i will make sure to get it, I've been on the computer a lot but taking my time too to organize and de-clutter closets and rooms, my refrigerator decided to switch its functions the top is keeping the food cold and bottom is freezing instead of the other way so meat is in danger and milk and water frozen how can that be?? the building superintendent is coming in the morning i hope before noon because i need to go to work around noon, hopefully i can get a new refrigerator this one has been a pain for a long time.

Tired Today

I woke up feeling really lazy today, yesterday i went to a salsa aerobics class in the morning, i always go Thursday night go home take a shower and go to sleep but in the morning i had to basically dry my face and run to work and i went because i told a friend I'll go with her, we have heard that the class even thought it was the same class and the same teacher it was very different because of the people attending the class and yes it was like night and day, at night is a mix of girls/ladies from different background and races all ages that basically run from work to the gym, in the morning were different our group clap, sing, move, encourages the teacher to keeps going the morning is totally quiet except for this time, the teacher's face lite up when he saw us, by the time we finish most of the group was gone I think he switched the music to a more wild one like mambo instead of a soft salsa, I had fun I love taking that class so I may simply keep going Thursdays and Fridays after all I can get to work at any time as long as I make my hrs. and make my gym days Mondays at the bike and machines and Thursday and Friday for my Salsa Aerobics classes, i hate the other classes i can't follow steps and hate to be told what to do, in this class I do because is dance but if i don't jump no one cares.
In the afternoon I went to Home Depot and got some storage boxes also I needed food, seems like I've been cooking, well when you go to buy food every month o 2 eventually runs out, so I needed to do that also, went to the bank and post office sent a package to Nolan because I can't go next Tuesday to see him, I will but more like the 3rd week of the month, I have lots to do at home this weekend, reorganizing and de-cluttering again, I need to finish playing around and just get it done.
